Carmelo M. Licitra, M.D.Carmelo M. Licitra, M.D.
Born in Rome, Italy, graduated from University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL; received his Medical Degree from University of Florida – Gainesville; received his Infectious Disease training from Emory University, Atlanta, GA;and served active duty in the US Navy and Navy Reserve. He has been practicing medicine in the Orlando Area since 1988.

However, one look at Dr. Licitra’s medical credentials, and you know you’ve come to the right facility for travel-health consultation and protection. Dr. Licitra, a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine & Infectious Disease, is presently Chief of Medicine, Chairman of the Infection Control Committee, Chief of Subsection (infectious Disease) and Infectious Disease Teaching Attending Physician of the Orlando Regional Healthcare System. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Infectious Disease at University of Florida – Gainesville; Clinical Asst. Professor at Florida State University School of Medicine (Orlando Campus) and is Medical Director and Founder of both the Outpatient Antibiotic Therapy Infusion Program and TravelHealth (At Florida Infectious Disease Group).

He is the GeoSentinal Medical Director of the Orlando Site of the CDC Emerging Infections Surveillance Project as well as a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine, the Infectious Disease Society of America, and the American Society of Tropical Medicine.

Dr. Licitra has been published in the Journal of Infectious Disease, Annals of Neurology, Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, the Journal of Clincal Microbiology .

 

Maria del Mar Rodriguez, M.D.Maria del Mar Rodriguez, M.D.
Maria del Mar Rodriguez was born in Spain, but raised in Puerto Rico. She attended the University of Puerto Rico and completed her medical training at the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. After Internal Medicine Residency at SUNY, Stony Brook, and an Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Rochester, also in New York, she served as Chairwoman of the Infectious Control Committee at Horton Medical Center in Middletown, New York. She has been an asset to our practice since 2000.

Dr. Rodriquez speaks fluent English and Spanish, and is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America. She has been published in IDSA.

 

Antonio Crespo, M.D.Antonio Crespo, M.D.
Dr. Antonio Crespo was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the Jose Maria Vargas School of Medicine at the Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas. He served as a rural physician and an emergency medicine resident in Venezuela before returning to Philadelphia for his internal medicine residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he served as Cheif Medical Resident for one year. After completing his infectious disease training at Temple University Hospital, where he was also a clinical instructor, he joined our group in 2002.

Dr. Crespo is now a clinical instructor for Florida State University's College of Medicine (Orlando campus) and a member of several medical societies in the United States as well as Venezuela. He has been widely published and has presented at a number of annual medical conferences. He has an enthusiastic interest in Travel Medicine and speaks fluent Spanish and English.

 

Philip Yeon, M.D.Philip Yeon, M.D.
Dr. Philip Yeon is of Korean decent, yet was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at the Escola Paulista de Medicina. After internal medicine training at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, he completed Infectious Disease fellowships at Hospital Sao Paulo as well as Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans. Then Dr. Yeon earned a Master of Public Health at Tulane while serving as Clinical Director at the Louisiana State Tuberculosis Clinic. He then served as an Infectious Disease consultant and Clinical Director of the St. Croix STD/TB/HIV Program on the U.S. Virgin Island of St. Croix. He joined our practice in 2004 and specailizes in Tropical Medicine in addition to Infectious Disease. Dr. Yeon speaks fluent English and Portuguese, as well as basic Spanish Korean.
